Our MOPS 2008 Kick-off Picnic!

Here are some pictures from our Kick-off Picnic! What a fun time! Thankfully, the rain stopped a few times so the kids could head out on the playground to play!

Mops Yard Sale

The yard sale was a huge success thanks to everyone who volunteered their time and donated items for us to sell. Thank you so much!

The tagging and pricing party began at Kathy's house on Friday evening. Look at all that stuff! Can you believe it was all stored in Kathy's family room and dining room the past two weeks?

Look at Jacki, our Finance Leader, she couldn't be happier right now! We made a whopping $1200 at the yard sale!

Friday night was a fun night out for the Mops Mama's and Papa's! They had a ball, bowling the evening away at King Pin Lanes.

Mom's Night Out!

We had a really fun Mom's Night Out this week at Dream Dinners. Just a bunch of "free" MaMa's preparing some free food! We each made a Honey & Herb Chicken dish to take home and share with our families. It was a good time for all who made it!

Race For The Cure

May 10 is the Komen Richmond Race for the Cure in Richmond. Join the fight by registering as part of our team (Woodlake UMC Angels-see below) or by supporting our efforts with a pledge contribution. The money raised through the Race will fund vital education, screening and treatment programs for underserved women in our own community and support the national search for a cure.

The Woodkale Race Team is forming now. Please consider joining our team. No experience needed to join us. Runners, walkers, any level you're at, we need you! See picture below from last year's team. It was a lot of fun and great memories were made.

So Hard to say Goodbye...

This past week, we lost one of our beloved Mops Moms, Lynn Dillingham to cancer. She was such a beautiful person and we thank God for sharing her with us for the short time we had her. We can take peace now knowing that she is home with Jesus and shining beautiful rainbows and blue skies down on us. Her steadfast faith and contagious smile will not soon be forgotten. She touched every Mother in our group in a different way, but mostly she inspired us all to walk with Jesus through all of life's ups and downs. She taught us to appreciate the time we have with our family and friends. She taught us to look at the birds in the trees and hear them sing, apprecaite spring flowers and passing butterflies. She taught us to praise God for these little gifts He gives us each day. She taught us to never let a second pass without seeing His glory in everything we do and give Him thanks.

It's been a difficult time for our group, but we will prevail. We will let Lynns' shining light be the beacon for strength and love within our group. God has healed Lynn. Now he will heal our broken hearts. Praises to Him in the highest!

Candlelight Prayer Service

We held a special prayer service for Lynn, right on her front lawn Monday! It was a beautiful service filled with prayers and singing. We prayed for heeling and comfort for Lynn. We love you Lynn!
